Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design across sectors in the Texas area (Austin, Dallas, Ft Worth). The role focuses on delivering high‑quality construction documents using Revit and guiding design teams on HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression systems.

The candidate will collaborate with architects and clients, perform code‑driven calculations, write specifications, and review submittals while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• 10+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer (HVAC, central plants, plumbing, fire suppression).
• Knowledge of design/construction processes and cross-disciplinary communication.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of mechanical systems for buildings across sectors.
• Lead mechanical engineering teams to produce construction documents using Revit.
• Manage project schedules to meet deliverable requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients in an integrated design process.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals; conduct site visits.
