Job summary

SP Industries Inc., an ATS company, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design, development, and optimization of laboratory equipment. You will drive New Product Development, apply advanced engineering principles, and deliver high-performance, compliant solutions.

The role requires leading cross-functional teams, performing analyses, and ensuring products meet industry standards while optimizing reliability and manufacturability. Strong CAD and simulation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years in mechanical engineering roles, with equipment or product design focus.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (ANSYS, COMSOL).
• Regulatory knowledge: FDA cGMP, ISO 13485, ASME BPE relevant to pharmaceutical equipment design/manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development from concept to production.
• Serve as lead engineer on New Product Development projects.
• Plan and execute reliability testing; use FMEA to guide activities.
• Perform structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics analyses to optimize performance and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, QA, and regulatory affairs for seamless integration.
• Drive improvements to reliability, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support testing at customer sites.
