Job summary

SP Industries Inc., an ATS company, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design, development, and optimization of laboratory equipment. You will drive New Product Development and apply advanced engineering principles to deliver high-performance, compliant solutions.

The role requires leading multi-disciplinary teams, performing simulations, and ensuring on-time, within-budget delivery in a regulated environment. Excellent leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum 10 years of mechanical engineering experience in design and development.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) and simulation tools (ANSYS/COMSOL).
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA cGMP, ISO 13485, ASME BPE).
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams from conception to completion.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; able to apply engineering principles to innovative solutions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Track record of delivering high-quality, compliant, and commercially successful products on schedule and within budget.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development of mechanical components and systems from concept to production.
  • Act as lead engineer on New Product Development projects.
  • Lead reliability testing planning and execution using tools like FMEA.
  • Perform structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics analyses to optimize performance and compliance.
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, QA, and regulatory to integrate systems into final products.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance reliability, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to professional development.
  • Support product testing, validation, and troubleshooting on-site and at customer sites.

Senior Mechanical Engineer
Job Description

SP Industries Inc., an ATS company is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the design, development, and optimization of our laboratory equipment. The successful candidate will lead the design of New Products, apply advanced engineering principles, and drive innovation to ensure the delivery of high-performance, reliable, and compliant solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the design and architecture of our laboratory equipment and technology development.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of mechanical components and systems, from concept to production.
  • Assume lead engineer responsibilities during New Product Development projects.
  • Lead reliability testing planning and execution and use tools like FMEA to inform activities.
  • Conduct engineering analyses, including structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics simulations, to optimize performance and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into final products.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
  • Support product testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities, both in-house and at customer sites as necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering roles, with a focus on equipment or product design and development.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, such as FDA cGMP, ISO 13485, and ASME BPE, relevant to pharmaceutical equipment design and manufacturing.

Salary Range: $100/K - $135/K
