Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group seeks a Supervising Mechanical Engineer in New York, NY to lead project design and coordination across client, contractor, and architecture teams. You will supervise staff, prepare CAD/BIM layouts, perform calculations, and ensure code compliance.

You will also manage budgets and schedules, conduct field investigations, and respond to RFI/Change Orders while mentoring junior staff and contributing to proposals and trade presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a mechanical discipline from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 12+ years experience in a consulting firm.
• Requires PE license and experience with REVIT and AutoCAD MEP.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Firm in interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and project team members.
• Provide trade-specific system design (layout, calculations) and coordination with other trades.
• Manage CAD/BIM and other technical staff as directed by senior engineer.
• Conduct field inspections and prepare detailed inspection reports.
• Process RFI’s, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda.
• Assist with employee reviews and write engineering proposals as needed.
• Participate in trade organizations and prepare presentations.
• Estimate construction costs and assess feasibility using ROM.
