Job summary

Magswitch is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to transform market needs into manufacturable products. You will lead mechanical design from concept through testing and production, creating 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, tools, fixtures, and test systems.

You’ll collaborate with project managers and manufacturing to set timelines, solve design and production challenges, and improve engineering standards. This role helps impact product performance and market delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of five years designing mechanical products or equipment and supporting them through manufacturing.
• Proficient in CAD and engineering drawing skills with production-ready documentation and BOMs.
• GD&T knowledge and metrology best practices.
• Experience in machining or basic manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel.
• Ability to lead in a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates product design and engineering efforts based on company vision and market needs.
• Uses Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
• Performs calculations to ensure feasibility of tools, fixtures, and test system designs.
• Develops 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and other documentation.
• Communicates project needs and timelines with the manufacturing facility.
• Conducts component and assembly inspections and performs failure analysis.
• Implements new engineering standards and procedures.
