Job summary

DPR Construction in Phoenix is seeking a highly skilled mechanical engineer to develop mechanical drawings, specifications and calculations through design and construction documents. You will lead coordination with multidisciplinary teams and support project execution with technical risk evaluation and scope management.

The role requires a PE license, a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 6+ years of experience, with strong CAD and 3D modeling skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience required.
• 6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• NCEES record for licensure maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the management and production of mechanical drawings, specifications, and calculations throughout the design lifecycle from conceptual design through construction documents under reduced supervision.
• Supports review of mechanical deliverables to ensure scope, quality, and coordination standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develops mechanical system designs for HVAC, piping, hydronic, and equipment systems using working knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Leads construction administration activities in collaboration with managers, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits.
• Utilizes CAD and modeling tools to create and review coordinated 2D drawings and 3D mechanical models.
• Assists project managers with cost tracking, scope management, and technical risk evaluation related to mechanical systems.
• Participates in professional development and supports implementation of technical and process improvements.
