Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive economical, high-quality mechanical designs for non-standard customer orders from concept to manufacturing, including field installation and operation. The role includes providing cost estimates for quotes and leading other engineers in complex designs.

You may travel to customer sites for technical discussions and warranty-related issues; onsite work in Ocala, FL is required, with some domestic travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from four-year college or university.
• 5+ years related experience.
• Must be familiar with ASME codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost-effective mechanical designs according to customer specifications for desiccant air dryers, filters, and related equipment.
• Lead design efforts for complex orders and quotes from concept through manufacturing and installation.
• Provide cost estimates to determine pricing strategy for quotes.
• Direct and mentor Inside Sales Engineers and Drafters on mechanical design and cost aspects.
• Offer technical support to Sales Representatives and customers, including on-site visits when needed.
• Support Warranty Service by analyzing problems and implementing engineering solutions, possibly visiting sites.
• Perform calculations and contribute to standards engineering for ongoing projects.
• Develop designs and concepts using 3D modeling and create BOMs in SAP.
