Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Ocala, FL, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to determine economical, high-quality mechanical designs from concept to manufacturing and to provide cost estimates for quotes.

The role leads other engineers, may visit customers to negotiate technical aspects, and supports warranty and standards engineering. Proficiency with CAD tools and ASME codes is required for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree required.
• 5+ years related experience.
• Familiar with ASME codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost-effective mechanical designs according to customer specifications for desiccant air dryers, filters, and related equipment.
• Lead engineering personnel in design of complex orders and quotes; provide guidance to other engineers and drafters on mechanical design and cost.
• Visit customers to negotiate technical aspects of projects or warranty issues as needed.
• Provide technical support for Sales Representatives and customers on product lines; travel to customer sites as needed.
• Support warranty service by checking designs and implementing engineering solutions; travel to installation sites if required.
