Job summary

Ehvert Mission Critical, part of Salas O’Brien, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mission-critical data centre design across North America. You will oversee HVAC and hydronic systems, perform energy analysis, and coordinate with BIM teams. Strong leadership and client communication are essential.

The role offers fully remote work within Canada, with opportunities to travel in North America and participate in advanced BIM/VDc workflows. A Canadian P.Eng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• P.Eng. designation in a Canadian province, or eligibility to obtain registration.
• 10+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience in data centres or mission-critical facilities.
• Strong HVAC and hydronic system design expertise for high-performance facilities.
• Advanced proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM coordination workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of mission-critical and data centre projects.
• Coordinate HVAC, chilled water, cooling towers, piping, and heat rejection systems.
• Perform load calculations, energy analysis, and system simulations.
• Develop technical specs, design criteria, reports, and construction docs.
• Mentor junior engineers and support BIM implementation and reviews.
• Engage with clients and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
