Job summary

Ehvert Mission Critical, A Salas O’Brien Company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and coordinate mechanical systems for mission-critical data centers across the U.S. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop innovative HVAC and mechanical designs that meet reliability, redundancy, and energy-efficiency standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• EIT certification required; PE license strongly preferred.
• Experience in HVAC and mechanical system design for mission-critical facilities.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical and HVAC designs, calculations, and construction documents for mission-critical facilities.
• Perform system design and equipment selection for chilled water, air handling, and cooling systems.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural, and controls disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and contractor RFI responses.
• Support field reviews and commissioning activities to ensure design intent and performance requirements are met.
• Apply relevant codes and standards including ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IMC, and local building codes.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define scope, schedule, and technical requirements.
• Contribute to continuous process improvement and mentor junior staff where applicable.
