Job summary

Fourier Earth, Inc. seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design, analysis, integration, and validation of automated hydrogen production systems. You will own 3D CAD design, packaging of HV/LV electronics, and DFM/DFA collaboration with manufacturing partners.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years in commercial product design and development.
• First-principles understanding of statics, mechanics, heat transfer, and fluids.
• Experience taking designs from concept to production and DFA/DFM implementation.
• Experience packaging electromechanical systems with HV/LV components.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and Thermal/Structural FEA tools (SolidWorks preferred).
• Ability to create GD&T-compliant drawings (ASME Y14.5).

Responsibilities

• Lead concept development, design tradeoffs, and down-select for all mechanical subsystems from purification through post-production steps.
• Own 3D CAD design of parts and assemblies, including sheet metal, plastics, insulation, seals, connectors, and fasteners.
• Review P&IDs and mechanical design documentation; perform first-principles sizing calculations for fluids, thermal and structural systems.
• Collaborate with electrical/electronics teams to integrate HV/LV systems into mechanical enclosures and ensure safe packaging.
• Define ICDs and maintain BoP documentation including BOMs and piping specs.
• Embed DFM and DFA with manufacturing partners from concept to production release; support test plans and validation activities.
