Job summary

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 10–15 years of experience to join our growing team. You will develop HVAC and plumbing designs, lead multidisciplinary project teams, and collaborate with the business development group to pursue new opportunities.

The role involves client interaction, proposal development, and mentoring junior staff. A PE license and strong communication skills are essential; hybrid work is available across locations in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering (required)
• 10–15 years of experience
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
• Experience with load calculation software
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Project management experience or certifications
• Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and teams
• Local AHJ experience and relationships a plus
• Active local industry involvement a plus

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and plumbing systems
• Manage and design multiple concurrent projects
• Interpret technical drawings and lead design team efforts
• Manage project budgets and schedules
• Develop fee and qualification-based proposals
• Conduct marketing/business development activities
• Travel as required
• Maintain client relationships for ongoing work
