Job summary

Goddard Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on design experience to develop and test mechanical concepts for systems, mechanisms, and parts.

You will balance function, form and budget while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and clients in a hybrid role. The position requires leadership on mechanical and interdisciplinary programs, proficiency in SolidWorks, and frequent travel to local client sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Mechanical design and DFX, with experience in design and/or manufacturing at least one of: sheet metal, weldments orInjection-molded plastics
• Experience with robotics and automation and/or medical devices
• 2D drawing creation (GD&T a plus)
• PLM
• Tolerance analysis
• Sustaining engineering

Responsibilities

• Participate in a variety of design, drafting, test, analysis and documentation tasks in support of product success.
• Application of engineering principles in a variety of industries.
• Work well with clients and as a key member on project teams.
• Communicate clearly with team members, senior management, and the client throughout the project.
• Display a high degree of ownership and the ability to independently identify risks & pursue paths forward in support of program objectives.
• Be a positive and success‑oriented individual who is familiar with the latest product development, production, and rapid prototype methodologies.
• Work with team members to estimate resource requirements, monitor progress and balance/reallocate as needed.
• Strive to balance strategic planning and tactical execution.
• Work with team members to resolve conflicts among resources and between clients and engineering teams.
• Serve as a technical leader for mechanical and interdisciplinary programs.
• Keep all privileged information private and confidential.
• Be proficient in the latest version of SolidWorks CAD package.
• Travel as-needed (valid driver's license and vehicle required).
