Goddard is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on design experience to develop and test mechanical concepts for systems, mechanisms, and parts. This hybrid role involves frequent travel to local client sites and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will work on design, drafting, testing, and documentation, balancing function, form, and budget while applying engineering principles across diverse industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience in mechanical design and DFX, with sheet metal, weldments, or injection-molded plastics.
• Experience with robotics/automation and/or medical devices.
• 2D drawing creation (GD&T a plus).
• PLM experience.
• Tolerance analysis.
• Sustaining engineering.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design, drafting, test, analysis and documentation tasks to support product success.
• Apply engineering principles across industries.
• Collaborate with clients and act as a key project team member.
• Communicate clearly with team, senior management, and clients throughout projects.
• Identify risks and pursue paths forward to support program objectives.
• Stay current with product development, production, and rapid prototyping methods.
• Estimate resource requirements, monitor progress, and balance resources as needed.
• Balance strategic planning with tactical execution.
• Resolve conflicts among resources and between clients and engineering teams.
• Serve as a technical leader for mechanical and interdisciplinary programs.
• Keep privileged information confidential.
