Job summary

Goddard Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical concepts and packaging strategies for industrial automation.

This hybrid role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, with frequent travel to local client sites, and focus on mechanism design with explicit experience in packaging strategies and parts selection. You will mentor junior engineers, ensure manufacturability and sustainability (DFX), and manage client interactions while balancing function,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or related field.
• Strong mechanical design and DFX, especially sheet metal, weldments, machining, and assembly.
• Experience with 3D CAD and 2D drawings.
• Proven experience in machine and mechanism design.
• GD&T proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers to ensure on-time delivery of projects.
• Design and test mechanical concepts for packaging strategies, mechanisms and parts, balancing function, form and budget.
• Provide DFX guidance to optimize manufacturability, serviceability and sustainability.
• Communicate progress and deviations to senior management and clients.
• Stay current with product development and rapid-prototype methodologies.
