Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Akron, OH to design and deliver mechanical and plumbing systems across diverse building types. You will collaborate with senior engineers, architects, contractors, and internal teams to ensure quality, code-compliant project delivery from concept through construction. Required: a B.S.

in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) and 7+ years of relevant experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM 360 is expected; PE license is a plus.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 7+ years of mechanical/plumbing building systems design experience.
• PE license preferred; experience with HVAC, hydronic, controls, and plumbing systems.
• Exposure to medical gas and fire protection systems is a plus.
• Proficiency with design standards and specifications (AIA MasterSpec or SpecsIntact preferred).
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support design of HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, and related mechanical systems.
• Develop layouts, calculations, and construction documents across all project phases.
• Perform system sizing, engineering analysis, and technical problem-solving.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines and external project stakeholders.
• Assist with construction documentation, specifications, and technical reporting.
• Support field coordination to ensure design intent is met during construction.
