Job summary

Jobot in the Chicagoland area is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical systems design for diverse projects, using AutoCAD and Revit. The role requires a PE and a strong background in HVAC, with hands-on experience in MEP and building codes.

You will manage projects from concept to completion, mentor junior engineers, collaborate across teams, and contribute to sustainable design initiatives while enjoying hybrid work arrangements and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 8+ years HVAC engineering experience.
• Good working knowledge of IMC, IECC and Chicago Building Codes.
• Energy modeling using TRACE, eQUEST or other programs a plus.
• Good understanding of ASHRAE Standards (55, 90.1, 62.1).
• PE license required.
• REVIT MEP and AutoCAD skills.
• Strong communication with clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for construction projects using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Ensure designs comply with local building codes.
• Manage MEP projects from inception to completion within schedule and budget.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in project reviews.
