Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer (HVAC and plumbing) to lead design efforts across projects from consolidation to implementation. This role supports hybrid work arrangements and may operate from Maitland, FL or other US offices, expanding technical leadership and project execution.

You will review designs for compliance, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with sales to extend the firm's reach while advancing sustainable building practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent.
• EIT certification or passing FE exam within 18 months of hire or transfer.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing HVAC and plumbing systems including master planning and feasibility studies.
• Reviewing draft designs for regulatory compliance and firm policies.
• Performing site reviews to align designs with location specifications.
• Mentoring junior staff and supervising project work as needed.
• Contributing to technical papers and knowledge management.
