Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with HVAC expertise to advance projects, expand technical leadership, and deliver sustainable design solutions. A hybrid work setup is available across multiple U.S. offices including Boston, Fairfax, Pittsburgh, Maitland, Raleigh, and Dallas.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical/ related engineering, an EIT/FE within 18 months, and 5 years of related experience. Travel up to 10% may be required; Revit and codes knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Certification as EIT or FE exam within 18 months of hire.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally.

Responsibilities

• Designing HVAC and plumbing systems including master planning and feasibility studies.
• Reviewing designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Performing site reviews to align designs with location specs.
• Developing technical papers and design documentation for publication.
• Collaborating with sales teams to promote firm products and services.
