Amentum in Aiken, SC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide engineering support for U.S. Department of Energy projects at the Savannah River Site. This role involves designing HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems, leading engineering teams and ensuring compliance with established engineering procedures.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and 15 years of relevant experience. The compensation range is $110,000 – $160,000, and benefits include health insurance, retirement, and educational reimbursement.

Qualifications

• 15 years of industrial/government design of Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, and related mechanical building systems.
• Demonstrated experience delivering projects from concept through detailed design completion.
• Thorough knowledge of applicable codes & standards (IMC, NFPA, ASHRAE, ASME, etc).

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the design of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
• Develop, review, approve, and check engineering calculations, layouts, specifications, and drawings.
• Coordinate mechanical designs with structural, electrical, architectural, and process disciplines.
