Amentum seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, coordination, and delivery of building mechanical systems for the SRS facilities in Aiken, SC. You will oversee HVAC, plumbing, and piping design, guide engineering teams, and ensure technical quality and compliance with SRS procedures.

The position requires 15+ years in industrial/government mechanical design, ABET-accredited B.S., and strong knowledge of IMC, NFPA, ASHRAE, and ASME.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 15+ years in industrial/government design of mechanical systems.
• Experience delivering projects from concept through detailed design.
• Thorough knowledge of IMC, NFPA, ASHRAE, ASME.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC, plumbing, and piping system design, including process piping.
• Develop and review engineering calculations, layouts, drawings.
• Apply advanced engineering judgement to resolve complex design issues.
• Coordinate with other disciplines; assist with scope, schedule, and budget.
• Ensure code-compliant, high-quality engineering solutions per procedures.
