Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• PE designation or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a product-based manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of HVAC and mechanical building design experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering theory, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and airflow fundamentals.
• Experience designing sheet-metal assemblies and mechanical HVAC components.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical analysis and design of HVAC units, modular data centers, components, and assemblies.
• Develop innovative mechanical solutions based on customer requirements and regulatory constraints.
• Improve manufacturability, serviceability, performance, and quality.
• Lead assigned products or subsystems through the lifecycle.
• Create and maintain 3D models and drawings using CAD tools.
• Develop and maintain BOMs, materials, and components.
• Develop engineering standards, guides, and specifications.
• Support configurable product platforms with design rules for dynamic BOM generation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing on prototypes and mock-ups.
• Define and execute test plans with the test lab; analyze results and drive corrections.
• Assist in DFMA improvements for production transitions.
• Interpret UL safety and compliance requirements.
• Provide guidance to applications, sales, service, and field teams.
• Lead continuous improvement to reduce design cycle time.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.
