Job summary

IPS, a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Blue Bell, PA headquarters or Somerset, NJ office. You will independently manage mechanical design projects, lead HVAC system development, and act as a technical expert on complex life sciences facilities.

Responsibilities include designing air distribution, piping, central plants, coordinating with clients and other engineers, performing load calculations and energy analyses, and ensuring code compliance.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of Engineering/design experience in building design (HVAC and utility generation).
• Experience with load calculations and energy analysis.
• 2-4 years overseeing engineers and designers on project teams.

Responsibilities

• Leads the design of HVAC systems including air distribution and central plants.
• Develops studies and schematic designs for new mechanical systems.
• Coordinates with clients and other design professionals; reviews budget and scope.
• Mentors design staff and reviews contractor pay applications.
