Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize HVAC and plumbing systems for government, commercial, and industrial facilities.

You will develop detailed drawings, specifications, and sizing calculations, and perform site visits to evaluate existing systems. You will collaborate with architects and contractors, use CAD/REVIT extensively, and prepare progress reports plus high-level cost estimates.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering and PE licensure required.
• 7+ years in consulting mechanical engineering.
• Experience designing HVAC/plumbing drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize HVAC/plumbing systems for various facilities.
• Develop plans, specs, drawings, and equipment sizing calculations.
• Conduct site visits and assess existing systems for upgrades.
• Perform facility condition assessments focusing on HVAC/plumbing.
• Collaborate with architects/contractors to integrate systems into designs.
• Use CAD/REVIT to model and present solutions; prepare reports.
• Provide high-level cost estimates using industry databases.
• Stay updated on codes (ASHRAE, IMC) and regulatory changes.
• Travel up to 30% as needed.
