Job summary

Allen & Shariff Corporation in Chicago seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer/Designer to lead HVAC design for complex building systems. You will independently manage multiple projects, prepare contract documents, and coordinate with clients and teams.

The role emphasizes advanced calculations, system analyses, and field coordination, with production using AutoCAD and Revit as needed. Strong documentation and bidding support are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or Architectural Engineering with a Mechanical focus).
• At least 10 years of relevant experience.
• PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems and select full equipment for medium to large commercial projects.
• Analyze system options and evaluate existing systems where appropriate.
• Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within A+S and externally with clients.
• Produce full design in AutoCAD and Revit depending on architect's preference.
• Write specifications and support bid/construction phases.
• Provide field observation reports and participate in project walk-throughs.
