Job summary

Allen + Shariff seeks a Vice President with strong hands-on HVAC design knowledge to co-lead its Chicago, Illinois office. You will provide technical leadership within the Mechanical discipline and share responsibility for achieving company objectives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Architectural Engineering with a mechanical focus, 15+ years in HVAC design, PE registration, CAD, and LEED knowledge. Leadership, teamwork, and client relationship skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical focus.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in HVAC design.
• PE registration is required.
• CAD experience; Revit preferred; LEED knowledge indicated.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC design for projects and co-lead the Chicago office.
• Set and monitor goals, direction, and policies for the office.
• Mentor staff to improve technical capability and productivity.
• Maintain quality control for mechanical and plumbing designs.
• Build and strengthen relationships with clients and prospects.
• Participate in proposals, negotiations, and business development.
• Ensure projects are on time and within budget; track performance.
