Job summary

Allen + Shariff Corporation, an international MEP engineering firm, seeks a Vice President with hands-on HVAC design expertise to co-lead our Chicago office. You will provide technical leadership within Mechanical, mentor staff, and drive project delivery to meet budget and quality targets.

Responsibilities include aligning corporate goals with the Chicago team, maintaining quality control, and strengthening client relationships while guiding proposals and negotiations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (mechanical focus).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in HVAC design.
• PE registration required.
• CAD is required; Revit preferred.
• In-depth understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems, including codes and LEED requirements.
• Proven leadership, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate with the Corporate Management Team to set goals, direction, and policy for the company.
• Communicate the company and Chicago office direction to the local team.
• Mentor staff to improve technical capability and production efficiency.
• Coach team members and provide growth opportunities.
• Maintain and improve QC procedures for mechanical and plumbing designs.
• Build and strengthen client relationships and participate in proposals and negotiations.
• Develop and track project goals for the office or group.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to high quality.
