Job summary

CSA Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC design for commercial projects. You will develop design documents, conduct site surveys, and perform load calculations using Trane Trace tools, ensuring accurate reports and compliance with permits.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 10–15 years of HVAC design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office, and a PE or EIT is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 10–15 years of design experience for HVAC systems.
• Engineer-In-Training or Professional Engineer License preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• Familiar with Trane Trace 700 or Trace 3D Plus for cooling/heating load calculations.
• Capable of writing reports on HVAC systems and designs.
• Curiosity and interest in AI and data-driven validation.

Responsibilities

• Design for HVAC, plumbing and piping projects.
• Prepare design documents for permitting, bidding and construction.
• Attend site surveys and field measure existing conditions.
• Prepare cooling and heating load calculations utilizing Trane Trace Software.
• Write reports on HVAC systems and designs.
• Prepare HVAC load calculations.
• Attend client meetings during design and construction phases.
