Job summary

CSA Group is seeking a Senior HVAC Design Engineer to lead mechanical design for building systems. You will design HVAC, plumbing, and piping concepts, generate design documents for permitting and construction, and support project teams from concept through construction.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 10–15 years of design experience for HVAC systems.
• Professional Engineer License required.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• Familiar with Trane Trace 700 or Trace 3D Plus for cooling/heating loads calculations.
• Capable of writing reports on HVAC systems and designs.
• Comfortable working remotely.
• Occasional travel to CSA locations (mainly Puerto Rico).
• Interest in AI and data-driven design with privacy-by-design considerations.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• 10-15 years of design experience for HVAC systems
• Professional Engineer License required
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• Familiar with Trane Trace 700 or Trace 3D plus (for the cooling/heating loads calculations).
• Capable of writing reports on HVAC systems and designs.
• Comfortable working remotely.
• Availability to attend occasional site visits, in-office and client meetings, & travel to other CSA locations (mainly Puerto Rico) as needed.
• Curiosity and interest in continuous learning in AI and comfort experimenting and iterating quickly; uses data to validate ideas and measure impact.
• Commitment to ethical and responsible AI adoption, including privacy-by-design and safe use of tools.
