Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a Mechanical Engineer with HVAC and plumbing expertise to advance project leadership and deliver resilient, sustainable environments. The role supports a hybrid work model and offices in multiple states, including Dallas, TX.

You will design and review mechanical systems, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with sales to win work while ensuring codes and sustainability goals are met.

Travel is up to 10%. A BS in engineering and EIT/FE eligibility within 18 months are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Chemical Engineering, or Engineering Technology or related discipline.
• Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the FE exam within 18 months of hire.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing HVAC and plumbing systems, including master planning, feasibility studies, and mechanical systems.
• Reviewing draft designs for regulatory compliance.
• Performing site reviews and updating design requirements as needed.
• Contributing to technical knowledge management and publishing papers.
• Attending industry conferences and collaborating with sales teams.
