Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to design HVAC and mechanical utility systems for new construction and renovations in North Carolina. The role oversees the mechanical scope and budgets for mid-sized projects, coordinating with architects, engineers, construction teams, and vendors to ensure coordinated, code-compliant designs.

The ideal candidate has an ABET-accredited degree, 5+ years in an AEC environment, and PE licensure, with strong BIM/CAD and energy modeling skills.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Architectural Engineering (mechanical focus).
• Professional engineering registration in good standing.
• Experience in HVAC and mechanical utility system design.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and mechanical utility systems for new construction and renovations.
• Oversee mechanical discipline scope and budget on projects of intermediate complexity.
• Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, and contractors to deliver integrated solutions.
• Produce load calculations, energy modeling, design reports, and construction documents.
• Direct design activities across all project phases and mentor junior staff.
