Job summary

GFT in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) to design building HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems, perform load calculations, equipment selections and develop detailed specifications.

The role includes mentoring staff, leading meetings with clients and agencies, delivering projects on time and within budgets, coordinating across disciplines and performing REVIT/construction administration and site surveys.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or Architectural Engineering with mechanical focus.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

Responsibilities

• Design of building HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems including calculations, layouts, sizing, equipment selections, specifications and coordination.
• Mentoring junior staff
• Lead and participate in meetings with clients, state agencies, city agencies, utility service representatives and project teams.
• Deliver projects on time and within client budgets
• Deliver projects in compliance with client and company quality control procedures and engineering guidelines
• Daily interaction and collaboration on cross‑functional teams across multiple disciplines
• Document work product in REVIT.
• Construction administration services; on-site construction administration, shop drawing review, RFIs, client meetings and coordination.
• Perform site visits, surveys/inspections to evaluate existing building mechanical systems.
• Participates in marketing efforts.
