Job summary

Cosentini Associates, a Tetra Tech company, based in Boston, MA, is seeking a Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer to join the Mechanical team. You will develop system concepts, prepare design drawings and calculations, and coordinate with architects, engineers and clients to deliver high-performance building solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and at least 8 years of HVAC design experience for commercial, institutional and healthcare facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in HVAC design for commercial, institutional and healthcare facilities.
• Knowledge of code requirements and industry standards.
• AutoCAD and Revit proficiency; MS Office suite.
• Massachusetts PE registration preferred; LEED AP BD+C preferred.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills; travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate system concepts to determine best design solution for each project.
• Prepare design drawings, specifications, calculations, equipment selection and layout.
• Lead and coordinate with engineers and designers on daily tasks.
• Attend meetings with architects, owners and building managers.
• Interface with clients and architects to discuss changes.
• Prepare basis‑of‑design descriptions and technical memorandums.
• Coordinate with other trades to ensure mechanical system integration.
• Support budget updates and design manpower planning.
• Follow internal procedures and industry standards; pursue professional development.
• Maintain safety and report health and safety concerns.
