Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• PE license preferred; ability to obtain Michigan licensure.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, building codes, energy codes, and industry design standards.
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead mechanical design efforts and guide project teams.
• Experience using Revit, TRACE/HAP, and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of building mechanical systems (HVAC, controls).
• Perform calculations, sizing, load analyses, and system evaluations for efficient designs.
• Provide technical leadership to engineers and designers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support energy modeling, system research, and lifecycle-based decisions.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate designs.
• Prepare and oversee 3D construction documents using Revit and participate in BIM coordination.
• Review documentation and calculations for code compliance and LEED considerations.
• Conduct site visits, respond to RFIs, and provide construction observation.
• Collaborate with clients and project managers to align mechanical solutions with goals, budgets, and schedules.
