Job summary

Calnetix Technologies, LLC in Southern California seeks a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design and electronics packaging using SolidWorks, from concept through production release.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in mechanical engineering, experience with thermal management, EMI packaging, high voltage electronics, and aerospace/defense standards; strong GD&T skills and hands-on troubleshooting on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with thermal management, shock/vibration robustness, EMI-conscious packaging, and environmental sealing solutions.
• Experience with PCB/PWA integration and high voltage electronics packaging with wiring according to IPC/WHMA-A-620.
• Experience designing electronics packaging with aerospace/defense requirements and MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-5400, or RTCA DO-160.
• Experience with IP ratings per IEC 60529 and practical implementation.
• Ability to perform structural and thermal simulations and support hand calculations.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and electronics packaging development in SolidWorks from concept through production release.
• Provide technical oversight and design reviews for internal and external stakeholders.
• Design for manufacturability and cost efficiency to ensure optimum manufacturing outcomes.
• Ensure timely completion of design deliverables including drawings, analyses, and documentation.
• Support risk identification and alternate design approaches; take ownership of projects and engineering signatures.
