Job summary
US Tech Solutions is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to provide detailed designs for handling and process equipment in a 12-month engagement in Corning, NY. The role includes hands-on support during installation, start-up, and debug of glass manufacturing equipment within a multi-disciplinary team.
The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field, 7+ years of design experience, proficiency in SolidWorks, and strong communication skills.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of mechanical equipment design experience.
- Proficient with SolidWorks and structural FEA analysis.
- Experience with design, install, start-up and debug of robust mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of machine guarding and OSHA safety practices.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with internal project team to understand design requirements.
- Independently determine and develop approaches to solutions.
- Responsible for installation and debug at factory site.
- Provide hands-on input into equipment installation and troubleshooting.
- Verify equipment build and layout against drawings.
- Coordinate installation plan with safety and plant receivers.
- Collaborate with engineers and vendors to resolve discrepancies.
