Job summary

Elevait Solutions in Corning, NY, seeks a senior mechanical engineer to lead detailed design of handling and process equipment for a glass manufacturing environment.

You will support the full equipment lifecycle from design through start-up and commissioning, work cross-functionally with electrical, controls, facilities, IT and operations, and apply fundamentals of machine design, hydraulics, thermodynamics, and materials.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical equipment design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Technology.
• Experience with structural FEA analysis.
• Hands-on experience with design, installation, startup, commissioning, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment and knowledge of machine guarding & OSHA.

• Work closely with mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, operations, and other cross‑functional teams.
• Apply mechanical engineering principles involving machine design, hydraulics, thermodynamics, mechanics, and metallurgy.
• Coordinate with vendors and support equipment installation and debug activities.
• Help ensure equipment is robust, reliable, and suitable for a manufacturing environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Technology
