Job summary

AIM Intelligent Machines, Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own core mechanical systems for autonomous machines operating in harsh environments.

You’ll design, analyze, prototype, and validate subsystems, from sensor enclosures to environmental protection, ensuring field-serviceability and manufacturability. Collaborate across EE, SWE, Autonomy, and Deployment teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive reliability improvements through DFM, testing, and significant

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of mechanical engineering and product development experience.
• Strong fundamentals in machine design, structural and thermal analysis.
• Experience with CAD tools and performing component-level FEA.
• Ability to collaborate across EE, SWE, Autonomy, and Deployment teams.

Responsibilities

• Own major mechanical subsystems such as sensor suites, compute enclosures, and protective assemblies.
• Create concepts and manufacturable, field-serviceable solutions.
• Transform customer needs into mechanical architectures across platforms.
• Produce high-quality CAD and provide detailed drawings and tolerances.
• Prototype, test, verify, and drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve validation practices.
