Job summary

Markon, Inc. seeks a senior Mechanical Engineer for the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer project. You will collaborate with teams across locations to align on design requirements and technical objectives.

The role requires 10+ years in mechanical engineering, active DOE L or DoD secret clearance, and experience with Model Based Design and FEA. Telework up to 15% may be available, with a focus on reliability and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) is required.
• Active DOE L clearance or DoD secret clearance is required.
• Minimum 10+ years as a Mechanical Engineer in a similar role.
• Experience with Model Based Design and FEA is required.
• Experience reviewing designs and technical interchanges with suppliers is required.
• Familiarity with ASME and AWS codes and standards is required.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability and GD&T is preferred.
• Ability to work across multiple locations with telework up to 15% is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams across locations to align on design requirements and objectives.
• Review and disposition supplier mechanical design submittals for compliance and manufacturability.
• Conduct and evaluate static structural analyses (FEA) to validate design strength and performance.
• Provide technical guidance to improve designs for reliability and manufacturability.
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions with internal teams and suppliers.
• Interface with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet program objectives, schedule, and quality.
• Apply relevant codes and standards (ASME, AWS) throughout design reviews.
• Support continuous improvement to optimize designs and processes.
