Job summary

Markon Solutions in West Mifflin, PA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) project. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align on design requirements, review supplier submittals, and perform static analyses to ensure strength and manufacturability.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years of experience, active DOE L or DoD secret clearance, and hands-on MB Design, FEA, and design reviews with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Active DOE L clearance or DoD Secret clearance required.
• BSME from an accredited college or university.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a similar role.
• Experience with Model Based Design.
• Experience supporting design reviews with Suppliers.
• Experience reviewing static analyses (FEA).
• Ability to apply ASME/AWS codes.
• Experience with GD&T and DFx considerations.
• Experience with joining processes (welding).
• Telework up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across locations to align on design requirements and objectives.
• Review and disposition supplier mechanical design submittals for compliance, standards, and manufacturability.
• Conduct and evaluate static structural analyses (FEA) to validate strength and performance.
• Provide guidance to improve designs for reliability, maintainability, and manufacturability.
• Participate in design reviews and discussions with internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues and drive timely decisions.
• Interface with stakeholders to ensure designs meet program objectives, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Apply relevant codes and standards (ASME, AWS) during reviews.
• Support continuous improvement to optimize designs and processes.
