Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support FAA regional office projects in El Segundo, CA. The candidate will lead mechanical design, HVAC systems, and project management for modernization efforts, coordinating design reviews and risk management.

Required are 8+ years in mechanical engineering with building systems experience, CAD drafting with AutoCAD/MasterSpec, and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Onsite work in El Segundo with partial telework possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 4+ years.
• 8 years of mechanical engineering experience including project management and design of building mechanical systems.
• Experience with HVAC components and energy calculations for system sizing.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance; US citizenship or permanent residency required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full project management lifecycle for FAA-related mechanical projects.
• Support feasibility, design, planning, and installation of HVAC and environmental control systems.
• Review designs, assemble packages, provide status updates and lead risk meetings.
• Prepare heat load calculations and energy compliance documentation.
• Create CAD drawings and ensure FAA conformance; evaluate design package requirements.
• Assist in drafting project scope and schedules; identify and mitigate risks.
