Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the FAA Los Angeles Enroute Engineering Center in El Segundo, CA. The role involves project management and design of building mechanical systems for modernization projects within the FAA regional office.

You will perform heat load calculations, develop CAD drawings with AutoCAD and MasterSpec, and participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and scheduling. The position may require onsite work with limited telework per management approval.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in mechanical system design, project management, and design development/drawings.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust/ suitability clearance (U.S. citizen or permanent resident).

Responsibilities

• Provide support across the full project management lifecycle for FAA-related upgrades.
• Oversee design and installation of HVAC, VAV, ductless, heat recovery, and related systems.
• Contribute to design reviews, risk management, and scheduling; prepare status reports.
• Perform heat load calculations for system sizing and energy compliance.
• Create CAD drawings using AutoCAD and MasterSpec in FAA-compliant formats.
