Job summary

Leidos in Huntsville, AL is seeking a High-Level Mechanical Engineer to support the CHGB program in the Defense Sector. You will lead mechanical testing, FEA, and integration activities for complex missile-system components.

The role requires ABET-accredited engineering or physics degree with 6–8+ years, MIL-STD-810 experience, and the ability to read drawings and work with multi-disciplinary teams; DoD missile systems experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires ABET-accredited BS in Engineering or Physics and 8+ years of relevant experience, or an MS with 6+ years.
• Experience in MIL-STD-810 test environment.
• Background in Manufacturing or Test Engineering.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team.
• Experience with acceleration, vibration, and mass properties test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Determine Center of Gravity, Product of Inertia, and Moment of Inertia values from provided data during measurement process.
• Create and analyze Random Vibration, Ignition Shock, and Pyroshock testing profiles.
• Operate Electrodynamic Shaker systems to support testing efforts.
• Develop Mechanical Test Fixturing.
• Perform Modal and FEA Analysis.
• Develop, maintain, and execute test procedures to support testing and vehicle delivery.
• Analyze test results, generate Test Reports, and document non-conformances.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to meet our technical and schedule requirements.
