Role Overview

CMTA, a Legence Company, is a leading engineering firm specializing in sustainable, high-performance building engineering. We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our Charlotte, NC Energy Solutions office. The division is rapidly growing, and the ideal candidate is self-motivated, client-focused, and possesses a strong technical background in HVAC design and commissioning, capable of leading all project phases.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead performance contracts from conception to completion, serving as the primary client contact.
  2. Explain and promote performance contracting to potential clients, highlighting CMTA’s unique approach.
  3. Conduct site visits, audits, and energy calculations during project development.
  4. Oversee the engineering design team in producing drawings and specifications.
  5. Manage the bidding process and develop final contracts.
  6. Coordinate with construction managers to ensure smooth project execution.
  7. Lead the commissioning process and oversee warranty phases as needed.
  8. Collaborate with M&V professionals on the first-year M&V report.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience with an Energy Services company or a consulting engineering/commissioning firm.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
