Job summary

Allen Control Systems seeks a Chief Mechanical Engineer to serve as the top mechanical engineering authority, owning architecture and hands-on design for electromechanical systems in defense tech. This senior IC role requires leading architecture decisions, testing, and ensuring on-time delivery from concept through deployment.

The candidate will direct structural, thermal, motion-control, and manufacturing domains while aligning engineering with company goals and establishing robust processes

Qualifications

• 12+ years of mechanical engineering experience developing complex electromechanical systems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven track record as a technical lead or chief engineer on electromechanical systems, robotics, autonomous systems, or defense hardware.
• Experience delivering products in demanding environmental and operational conditions; strong project management instincts.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction as the mechanical engineering authority across structural, thermal, motion-control, and manufacturing domains.
• Oversee mechanical testing, validation, and qualifications to ensure performance and reliability.
• Own engineering execution from concept to deployment, defining priorities, timelines, and milestones.
• Establish engineering processes, design reviews, and documentation standards to support rapid development and long-term maintainability.
