Job summary

Allen Control Systems in Mountain View, CA seeks a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead and contribute hands-on while guiding architecture decisions across structural, thermal, motion-control, and manufacturing domains.

You will work closely with product, operations, and leadership to ensure on-time delivery of complex defense products, establishing engineering processes and maintaining high technical standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering experience with leadership or management exposure.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and develop engineers at varying levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage the Mechanical Engineering team; foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability and technical excellence.
• Provide technical direction and review complex electromechanical design decisions across structural, thermal, motion-control, and manufacturing domains; oversee testing and qualification activities.
• Own engineering execution from concept through deployment; define priorities, timelines, and milestones with leadership and ensure on-time delivery within scope.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and leadership to align engineering with company objectives; establish processes, reviews, and documentation standards.
