Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior technical authority for mechanical engineering across structural, thermal, motion-control, and manufacturing disciplines.
• Lead mechanical testing, verification, validation, and qualification to meet performance, reliability, environmental, and operational requirements.
• Drive mechanical engineering execution across the full product lifecycle from concept through production and field deployment.
• Partner with leadership to set technical priorities, development plans, milestones, and timelines while maintaining strong execution.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.
• Develop and improve engineering processes, design review practices, and documentation to enable rapid development without compromising quality.
• Identify and manage technical risks, making informed tradeoffs between performance, schedule, manufacturability, and reliability.

We are seeking a Chief Mechanical Engineer to serve as the senior technical leader for mechanical engineering and product architecture. This is a highly hands‑on individual contributor position for an experienced engineer who can lead complex electromechanical systems from early concept through deployment.

You’ll help shape architecture and design decisions across structural, thermal, motion-control, and manufacturing disciplines while establishing the technical standards needed to deliver reliable, mission‑critical defense products.

What You’ll Do

• Act as the senior technical authority for mechanical engineering, providing guidance and design reviews across structural, thermal, motion-control, and manufacturing disciplines.
• Lead mechanical testing, verification, validation, and qualification efforts to ensure products satisfy performance, reliability, environmental, and operational requirements.
• Drive mechanical engineering execution across the full product lifecycle, from initial concepts and architecture through production and field deployment.
• Partner with company leadership to establish technical priorities, development plans, milestones, and timelines while maintaining a strong focus on execution.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and cross‑functional engineering teams to align technical decisions with broader business and product objectives.
• Develop and improve engineering processes, design review practices, documentation standards, and technical workflows that enable rapid development without compromising quality or maintainability.

What You’ll Bring

• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience designing and developing complex electromechanical systems, with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience serving as a Chief Engineer, Principal Engineer, Technical Lead, or similar senior technical authority for complex hardware, robotics, autonomous systems, electromechanical products, or defense platforms.
• Demonstrated success taking sophisticated hardware products from concept through testing, qualification, production, and deployment.
• Experience designing systems intended to operate in demanding or mission‑critical environments.
• Strong engineering judgment and project execution skills, with the ability to balance technical rigor, development speed, product quality, and risk.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear decisions and recommendations for both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
