Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Specialist, Mechanical Engineering for our Canoga Park, CA area. This role focuses on electro-mechanical design for high pressure/power and extreme temperature hardware, including propulsion components.

You will work mostly independently, with senior staff guidance as needed, and interact with cross-functional teams to deliver robust designs. The position requires a strong background in electro-mechanical engineering, 3D CAD modeling (Creo/NX), and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 6+ years of experience; or graduate degree with 4+ years; or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to complete electro-mechanical and mechanical design tasks for high pressure/power and extreme environment hardware.
• Interpret engineering models/drawings and perform tolerance studies.
• Evaluate inputs from hardware suppliers and work with cross-functional teams on producibility improvements and cost savings.
• Participate in trade studies and preliminary designs using Creo/NX; peer review work when needed.
• Ensure manufacturability by collaborating with manufacturing; propose improvements.
• Prepare and deliver presentations for internal/external customers; produce engineering drawings per ASME Y14.5.
• Travel up to 10% and support reviews/close-outs as required.
