Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Lead, Electrical/Mechanical Engineer to drive electromechanical actuation system design across the full product lifecycle for aerospace and defense applications.

You will translate requirements into robust architectures, perform trade studies, and guide multidisciplinary teams through detailed design, integration, and qualification activities, with a focus on performance, reliability, and producibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience or graduate degree with 7+ years of experience.
• Experience designing high-reliability electromechanical actuation systems for aerospace/defense.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of electromechanical actuation systems for aerospace/defense platforms.
• Translate requirements into actuation system architectures and producible hardware solutions.
• Perform concept development, trade studies, and system sizing analyses including torque, speed, and duty cycle.
• Develop 3D CAD models, drawings, and engineering definition packages.
• Lead verification and qualification testing and root cause/corrective action efforts.
