Job summary

Hallmark Cards, Inc. in Liberty, MO is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a team that designs and develops original production and fulfillment equipment (electro-mechanical automation).

You will be involved in design, start-up, troubleshooting, documentation, and training to support our automated systems. The role requires collaboration with multiple departments, strong technical leadership, and the ability to balance ambitious schedules with quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional engineering experience to demonstrate mastery of responsibilities.
• Experience designing complex electro-mechanical automation equipment is preferred.
• Experience with robotics and motion control systems using servo motors or pneumatics is preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD systems such as Solid Edge for modeling and drawing creation is expected.
• Working knowledge of OSHA and ANSI standards related to machine guarding and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and drive the conceptualization of solutions and integrate within the operating environment.
• Create machine part and assembly drawings for fabrication, installation, and maintenance.
• Lead prototyping, troubleshooting, assembly, and evaluation.
• Manage capital spending, source components, and collaborate with external suppliers and consultants.
